Breather Fittings: (2) 3/4"i.d. grommets

Black Aluminum Oil Filler: No Oil Filler

Clear polycarbonate valve covers for Small Block Chevy engines.

These are vacuum-formed from .187” (3/16”) thick, optical-grade polycarbonate, then coated inside and out with a high-temperature, oleophobic ceramic coating. Built to be run, not just looked at.

They let you see exactly what’s happening inside your engine while maintaining a clean, intentional appearance under the hood.

No gimmicks. No unnecessary styling. Just clarity, strength, and function.

Each set is formed, trimmed, drilled, and finished in-house in the USA.

What’s in the Box

  • One pair of .187” thick, ceramic-coated polycarbonate valve covers

  • 8 black spreader bars for installation

  • Breather fittings installed (if selected)

  • 12” × 12” microfiber towel

  • Installation instructions

  • Care guide

Installation Notes

  • Use light, even bolt torque — polycarbonate does not require excessive clamping force

  • Cork gaskets are recommended

    • Cork is more forgiving if gasket trimming is required

    • Helps accommodate minor surface variation and seals well with lighter torque

  • Apply sealant as needed and allow proper cure time before running

Care & Cleaning

DO:

  • Use a soft microfiber cloth (included)

  • Clean with water and mild dish soap

  • Blow off dust with clean compressed air before wiping (if available)

DO NOT:

  • Use harsh solvents (acetone, brake cleaner, alcohol, etc.)
(Polycarbonate tolerates these, the ceramic coating does not)

  • Use glass cleaners containing ammonia

  • Pressure wash at close range or use hot degreasers

  • Scrub with paper towels or abrasive materials

The UV- and oil-resistant ceramic coating is tough — not indestructible.

Heat Management Notice

Heat control is critical.

These clear valve covers are designed to withstand temperatures up to ~300°F, but upswept headers, turbo housings, and turbo plumbing must be properly insulated.

At minimum, use heat blankets or exhaust wrap to reduce radiant heat exposure.
Legacy Form USA is not responsible for damage caused by external radiant heat sources.

Warranty

12-Month Limited Warranty

Covers manufacturing defects for one year from the purchase date.
Does not cover chemical damage, misuse, abuse, or improper heat management.

Typically ships within 7–10 business days.

Ghost Cover FAQ

A: We currently offer Ghost Covers for Duramax, LS, and SBC engine platforms. As well as AAM 11.5/11.8 differentials. Cummins and other applications are in development.

A: Yes — they’re thermoformed from optical-grade, heat-resistant polycarbonate. Each one is coated with a ceramic barrier for added oil repellency and durability.

A: No noticeable yellowing has occurred in testing. Covers are made from UV-stabilized polycarbonate and ceramic-coated for additional protection. Long-term exposure testing is ongoing, but results so far are excellent.

A: They’re made to run. Durability has been tested under heat, vibration, oil exposure, and real-world driving conditions. They’re not indestructible, but they’re absolutely built for real engines, not just display.

A: Installation is straightforward — apply the provided clear RTV sealant, allow it to partially cure (per instructions), then lightly snug the included hardware. We provide 29 bolts for a 28-bolt install… just in case the engine bay eats one.

A: Each cover is handcrafted, and minor imperfections may occur — particularly in areas like the flange or edge. These do not affect performance or clarity when installed. We inspect every cover and only ship what we believe you’ll be proud to run. Expect show-stopping engine bay visibility, not lab-grade perfection under LED magnifiers.

A: Crazing is a fine, hairline cracking that can appear in the polycarbonate during or shortly after ceramic coating. It typically shows up in high-stress flange areas caused by the thermoforming process.
It doesn’t affect strength or clarity in the visible zone and is mostly cosmetic. We actively work to minimize it, but it’s considered a normal characteristic of coated thermoformed polycarbonate.

A: We don’t currently offer a DIY ceramic kit, and flame polishing is not recommended post-forming. All covers ship pre-coated and flame-finished at the factory. Reach out if you’re chasing something custom — we’re happy to talk shop.

A: No — stick to mild soap and water only. Solvent-based cleaners like isopropyl alcohol, Windex, or ammonia can degrade the ceramic coating over time or cause hazing. Use a soft microfiber towel and wipe gently.
